Makers Market
December 5

Support Cairns’ very own artisans and get your Christmas shopping done in one go! In partnership with Bailey, Makin’ Whoopee Gift Shop presents Makers Market where you can buy different products from local craftsmen and artisans. Botanic Gardens Plant Sale

Give yourself and the plant lovers in your life some plants from the Cairns Botanic Gardens. They will be doing a pre-Christmas plant sale on December 6. You can choose from different varieties of orchids, gingers and heliconias, shrubs, and indoor plants!

Christmas Carols in Cairns Broadcast
December 6

The beloved Carols in Cairns will be delivered differently this year - through your screens! This is so that even with the COVID-19 restrictions, we all can still experience Carols in Cairns. Gather your family around your TV, phone, tablet, laptop, or computer and enjoy and sing-along with the talented local artists and performers featured. Don’t worry - Santa Claus, cleared by the Council as an essential worker, will be there to turn on the lights. You can watch Carols in Cairns through Cairns Regional Council’s website, Facebook or Youtube page. The show starts at 6:30 pm and the lights will be turned on at 6:45 pm. Do light yours at the same time!

 A Celtic Christmas
December 10

Santa Photos at the Plaza
December 1 - December 24

If you have kiddos in your family that love Santa, you can take them to Mount Sheridan Plaza for a picture. Don’t worry, it’s safe; instead of Santa’s big red chair, there will be Christmas-themed photo sets that have laser-cut acrylic props and minimal touchpoints. For kids with special needs, they can also have the chance to meet Santa in a quiet and stress-free environment. Know the details here.
